I live in the "corrupt" city of Sunnyvale, California where homes sell
for about 1 million in my neighborhood. The city of Sunnyvale is a town of roughly 150,000.
Most of the folks who buy
what are called "Eichler" homes are what I would call "yuppies." I assume they get their money from
being in a start up company or one of the other
so called high tech firms. I am not against these folks. I am
just disappointed in them. They buy a home for roughly one million dollars and then immediately set out to
remodel
the home. The remodeling is not the issue. It is the fact that they obtain no building permits and they use unlicensed
contractors. You need to understand I am
not one of them. I just enjoy watching them and the fact
that our city does nothing to stop their illegal activity. So what happens when the City of Sunnyvale does nothing
to
keep them from performing these illegal acts?? I want to stress this is worse than a senator having an "illegal"
working as their nanny or maid. Yes!! These young up
and coming "yuppies" are fostering a whole new
underground. They buy their expensive home renovate it and pay most likely cash to the workers they picked up at "HOME
DEPOT".
So they are keeping our city, county and state from getting the hard earned money we need to keep our city,
county and state operating. It also fosters more illegals coming
into our state that is already operating on overload.
When I first moved to California, folks did not have the money to buy even a $275,000 home let alone dump another
$100,000
into its structure. Not these young "yuppies." No sir. I have seen these folks hire illegal worker after
worker.. fix their homes to the tilt.. and not blink and eye and my city
officials just turn a blind eye. This
home at 1153 Tangerine Way, Sunnyvale, California is an epitomy of what I mean. Not one permit was pulled to remodel this
home. The owner is now
trying to sell if for $1,0900,000++++ but to top it all off.. he is portraying himself as a Licensed
Realtor who either owns or is an agent from a company that does not exist... Sunnyvale
Realtors. So Buyer Beware!!
but most these young yuppies do not care.. they do not care that permits were not pulled or that 20 illegal unlicensed contractors
worked on the property..
why?? They say they care about our environment etc.. really...lets start with the basics..
you have to register your car, you have to pay your homeowners insurance, you must pay your
taxes, so why not do the
right thing and get these illegal unlicensed workers off the underground money laundering market.. please for your children's
sake and future..oh I forgot you are
the one that will next hire the unlicensed person to care for your kids..
oh!! that's it. Let's just foster this huge second class form of society to take care of all your needs i.e. daycare,
gardening, home remodeling.. I get it...
